Kids On Track is a community organization with a passion to offer hope, direction and support to children, youth and parents. We are purposeful in focusing on those families whose socioeconomic situations have made it difficult for them to access opportunities needed for optimal development of their young people. By using the vehicle of recreational and educational activities, children cultivate enriching relationships with positive role models and are encouraged in their character development.
To enhance the physical, social, and spiritual development of children in a Christian context. We purposefully focus on those children whose socioeconomic situations have made it difficult for them to access opportunities needed for this development.
Family Fun Night - A monthly event. A family meal kicks off this event with nutritious and delicious food shared around a family table. The kids then split off and enjoy KOT Clubhouse while the parents can stay for the Parent Café.
Parent Café- parent-driven activities are planned to give them a chance to unwind, share with other parents, and glean from experienced parents in the community
Rainbows and Prisms - a program that assists children and their parents recovering from the grief of bereavement or divorce.
Character Clubs – a weekly club at high needs schools in the neighborhood. Provides character building lessons and nutritious lunch for children.
Character Assemblies – When school principals are asking for support to reinforce positive citizenship in their school, Character Assemblies are there.
Family Celebrations – When families are experiencing financial need it is difficult for them to enjoy a family celebration. Kids On Track helps by providing opportunities for families to celebrate at significant times of the year. Annual highlights are the Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Party with glow in the dark puppet musical, Mother’s Day Tea and Family Picnic.
Summer Day Programs and Camps - field trip based programs for children and youth are offered along with a one-week overnight camp for both children and youth.
KOT Shift Youth — Held every Friday night. Community youth have a place to meet new friends, go to recreational venues in the community, and get active. Recreational activities are structured to help youth develop positive peer relations and mentoring relationships with adult role models.
Leaders In Training Experience – (Ages 12-17) When youth are looking for a challenging, engaging opportunity to become involved in their community the LITE program is there for them. They work on leadership skills and character development that in turn will enhance their future career opportunities and current self-esteem.
