WHO WE ARE
All Ronald McDonald Houses are independently owned and operated non-profit organizations. Ronald McDonald House Charities® Northern Alberta (RMHCNA) is the only facility in Edmonton and the surrounding area that provides temporary and affordable accommodation for families whose children are being treated in one of Edmonton’s medical facilities.
WHAT WE DO
In 2015, RMHCNA provided 10,977 nights of comfort to families when they needed it the most. The House features three kitchens, heated underground parking, a school for guests and several spaces for families to gather.
RMHCNA works to ease the financial and emotional burdens of the families, and keeping families close drives the House’s programming.
Staff members and hundreds of volunteers implement Meals that Mend, the Day Pass Program, the Education Program, the Recreation Program, the RMHCNA Shuttle, Happy Wheels and the Connect Back Program.
Through House programming, RMHCNA is working towards their mission of improving the lives of all families with seriously ill or injured children in Edmonton and Northern Alberta through family-center care.
WHO WE SERVE
RMHCNA is a place of comfort and compassion for all families with ill and injured children. While the families who stay at RMHCNA come from outside Edmonton, the House also helps families from Edmonton through the Day Pass Program, where families have access to all House programming.
There are also RMHCNA offices in the Peace Region and Lakeland Region to continue to serve and support families after they return home. Read our family stories to learn more about the families who call RMHCNA home.
