Fulton Child Care Association (FCCA) is a charitable not-for-profit organization that is incorporated under the Societies Act in the province of Alberta. We provide tax receipts for the generous donations received from our supporters.
At FCCA, our child care professionals plan open-ended activities and experiences for the children, which allow them to manipulate, create and problem solve for themselves at their own level of interest and comfort. Our program encourages independence, social interaction and creativity; enhances self-esteem; and stresses health, nutrition and safety. To ensure healthy development, our full time kitchen staff prepare healthy homemade meals and snacks that provide two thirds of a child's overall nutritional requirements.
FCCA is fundraising to replace the current fenced play yard with a Natural Outdoor Play Space that enables children to connect with nature and incorporates elements such as wood, trees, plants, rocks, soil, and water. The planned design covers an area of approximately 9,600 square feet (896 m²) with features including sculptured earthwork, boulders, logs, benches, a raised deck and a shade pergola. 90% of this area will be designed for toddlers and pre-school children and 10% will be space for infants. Once completed, this new play area will have enough space to allow all the children to go out and play at once with shade in the summer and protection from the wind in the winter. This will maximize the children’s opportunity to play outdoors.
We ask that you consider donating towards this project and help our staff and parents cultivate a sense of curiosity, wonder and respect for the natural environment. We are so close to reaching our fundraising goal, and the support of our parents and broader community will help us get there!
